For many years, competitors, visitors, media, and even taxidermists themselves often misunderstood the meaning of ribbon colors, sizes, and titles within the ETC competition structure. This page explains the official system clearly and transparently to preserve the integrity and prestige of the European Taxidermy Championships.
These ribbons are awarded across all divisions and categories.
They represent the competitor’s quality of work and level of performance within their division or category.
Small ribbons DO NOT indicate ranking or placement.
Medium ribbons are awarded in addition to small ribbons and display the specific award title. These are used in Novice, Professional and Collective Artists divisions.
Medium ribbons do NOT qualify for European titles.
These ribbons represent the highest level of achievement at the ETC and are awarded in Master Division and Division of Excellence.
They are awarded in addition to the small ribbons and include the official award title.
